About Young George Washington:

Everyone knows George Washington, the first president of the United States, but few know about his journey to become the first president. He is young, confident, bold and humble as an officer in the Virginia Militia.
Throughout his young military career there were many instances where he narrowly escapes death to become one of the most important men in U.S. history.

Christopher Gist
Played by Timothy Perez-Ross


About Christopher Gist:
As a colonial British explorer, surveyor
and frontiersmen, Mr.Gist was one of
the first to explore the Ohio Country.
His experience provided critical support for George Washington as they journeyed through harsh wilderness to deliver an important message about troops in the Ohio Valley.
Gist is reported to have saved Washington's
life at least twice during their journey.

About Indian Guide:

On Washington and Gist's journey through
the wilderness to deliver Washington's
report, they required a native guide who
could help them through the snow covered landscape. The brave Ottawa Indian did
what he thought was best for his people
but it ultimately ended in a frightening
situation for Washington and Gist.

About Martha Custis:
At age 18, Martha married a rich planter,
Daniel Custis. Upon her marriage, she
became a member of the elite society and
used every opportunity to learn about what
was happening throughout the colonies.
Martha is a bold, educated woman who speaks her mind and isn't intimidated by anyone.

About Sally Fairfax:
Born into one of Virginia's wealthiest and oldest families, Sally married George William Fairfax and became the mistress of the Belvoir estate.
As a young man with limited education and inexperienced in climbing the social ladder, Washington was impressed with this attractive, popular, and intelligent woman—arguably viewing her as the ideal of womanhood.

About Abraham:
One of the Fairfax's servants,
Abraham is a refined gentlemen who cares
for everyone in the household.
He is smart and aware of everything going on
in the house. Abraham doesn't hesitate to
warn young George Washington of the
dangers that lie ahead of him.
